Finding a job can be complicated and challenging.

There are various steps to work through including resumes, applications, interviews and certifications.

The Portage la Prairie Immigrant Resource Centre can help you navigate this process and
can also provide the following employment services:

§          Resume preparation: Staff can help you create a resume for Canadian employers. A resume is brief, concise document that presents and sells your most relevant and positive credentials for employment, admission to graduate school, consideration for a scholarship or fellowship, or other professional purpose.  An effective resume gets you an interview, not a job.

§           Job interview preparation: How can you prepare for a job interview? What sort of questions will a Canadian employer ask?
The Portage la Prairie Immigrant Resource Centre Staff can help you find the answer to these questions.

§           Job opportunities: They can provide information to assist you with job search strategies.

§           Academic Credentials Assessment: How do you get Canadian recognition for a career you trained for and practiced in your native country? The Portage la Prairie Immigration Centre does not assess credentials, but can provide you with information on the process and contacting the appropriate agencies.
